Cabinetry

Cabinetry is often the first thing we notice in the kitchen, and when the time to restore its allure, it takes the work of a craftsman. Not everyone has the skills, patience, and attention to detail it takes to refinish their entire kitchen or bathroom. Whether you want to update your kitchen or would like to restore some vintage charm, we have the expertise to craft exactly what you desire.

We also make in-home refinishing as easy as possible with our mobile finishing room, where we bring our equipment and perform the work on-site. With us, there's no need to gut the kitchen. We go in and finish the kitchen as-is with your appliances in place. It is worth noting that if you want us to finish around your refrigerator, we cannot move or disconnect your fridge for you. If you would prefer a project be done in our shop, we will gladly pick up and deliver.

On average, we can turn around a kitchen in two weeks, and other furniture work is done as time allows.

FAQs

Many people think finishing is as simple as using whatever is on the shelf, but in order for finishing to be done correctly, a multi-step process is usually involved. Steps can include sanding, prepping, priming, painting, and clear-coating. We're able to do all of this from start to finish.

Preserving a finish comes down to treatment, which is often more complicated than just using coasters. Everyday factors that can cause damage include pets, young children, and exposure to the elements. If you're able to treat your finish with the right amount of precaution, it can last up to 10 years.

It can take a finish up to 30 days to cure out and for Mother Nature to work her magic. If something happens after that, rather than reaching for the furniture polish, see what you can do with a nice warm rag. That said, it is wood. It will have flaws. If you still run into problems with your finish, feel free to give us a call at 704-740-6416, and we'll have a look.

It's risky for a novice to attempt restoring antique furniture or cabinetry. Living room, kitchen, and bedroom sets have a lot of financial and sentimental value. If you don't know what you're doing, it's easy to damage them. We treat each project delicately with expert hands, and we're insured if something happens.

The various steps of finishing alleviate many problems we find in our furniture. At a broad level, finishing is taking a wooden surface back to its base and restoring it from there. Finishing, however, isn't a cure-all. If your item has a major structural issue, it may take some restoration as well as finishing to give it the look you want. We do both on a daily basis and can tell you exactly what you'll need.
